Gearing up to teach summer camps!

I decided to post when I am teaching summer camps at the CCAA on our Mommieblog to hopefully answer questions on who, what and when I am teaching. So here it is folks:) All these can be found and registered for on the CCAA website:  http://public.chestercountyarts.org/public/SummerCamps.faces

Session I
June 18-22 (1 week)
3-5 yr olds
Hands On Art (3-5yr olds) 9:30-11am
  • Your child will create artwork with a common theme… their very own handprint. By the end of the week your child will have completed a book of art they created with a variety of art materials they explored all incorporating their hand.
StoryArt  (3-5yr olds) 11am-12:30pm
  • The class is designed to promote art literacy by creating work based on children’s books that we read in class.

Session II
June 25-29 (1 week)
9-12yr olds
Printmaking, bookmaking and Collage 9:30am-12:30pm
Students learn the art of printmaking techniques such as etching, monoprint, marbleizing paper, stamping and collograph. They will be using a printing press, hand press, as well as some old world techniques. Their finished prints will be incorporated into collage and a finished hand-sewn book.

Session III
July 9-20 (2 weeks)
5-7 yr olds
Mixed Media Printmaking 9:30am-12:30pm
Students learn the art of printmaking techniques such as etching, monoprint, marbleizing paper, stamping and collograph to overlap techniques to create vibrant mixed media art. They will be using a printing press, hand press, as well as some old world techniques

Session VI
August 20-24 (1 week)
3-5 yr olds
Animals & More Mixed Media  (3-5yr olds) 9:30-11am
  • We’ll try lots of different materials and techniques to create wonderful art based on animals children love. Children will be painting, drawing, collaging and more!
Young Art Explorers (3-5yr olds) 11am-12:30pm
  • As art explorers, we’ll try lots of different materials while learning about the key elements of art. Get ready to create!
